Mice

House mice originated in Asia but have since spread throughout the world. Along with brown rats, they are considered to be the most widespread terrestrial mammal other than humans.  House mice are nocturnal. Litter size is 4-16.

Size:  adult body length of 7.5–10 cm and a tail length of 5–10 cm.
Areas found: houses, shops, pubs restaurants, industrial units, gardens
Signs of infestation:

  • Droppings
  • Rat smears marks.
  • Damaged  merchandise and damage to the fabric of premises.
  • Nesting materials
  • Characteristic smell – mice will leave behind an ammonia-like smell, that is particularly strong in enclosed areas.
  • Sighting of live mice
  • Dead mice
  • Runs and borrows
